How do I cover facial redness?
How do I cover facial redness?
2 January 2016

Neutralising facial redness is easy with a little pro knowledge and the right product. Facial redness is something that many of us will deal with during our lifetime. Ranging from flushed skin, blushing, alcohol flush, sunburn, windburn, exposure to the outdoors, thread veins, high colour, hormonal breakouts, through to adult acne, and rosacea, it can be at best annoying and at worst can make you feel less confident in your skin.

Often, when looking for a concealer to cover redness, you might choose a beige or brown tone to match your own skin shade. Unfortunately, that isn’t going to cover the redness effectively, so you end up choosing a heavier texture, or applying more to compensate, and end up with the ‘cakey’ or mask-like look we are all trying to avoid!

A red tone to the skin can be corrected and concealed by choosing an opposite colour on the colour wheel. However rather than using green, we have developed a yellow-toned concealer range, *specifically* for redness. See why here. Technology in developing makeup formulations has leapt forward in the past 5 years, and we have been able to pack a high concentration of yellow-toned pigments into a light-feeling product texture.  Simply apply a dot of ReCover Correct & Conceal Red with your fingers or a brush to the red area and smooth outwards. Apply to clean skin, or over foundation, and you can reapply during the day without looking ‘cakey’.
