Party Makeup Tips for Desk to Dance
Party Makeup Tips for Desk to Dance
5 December 2016

It’s the festive season and time to sparkle! Going straight from work to drinks or a party leaves little time to apply your glamorous seasonal makeup. Don’t panic, help is at hand – here are our top tips on how to get your makeup party ready.

Time is of the essence
Allow extra time. Get the basics done in the morning so that later, when you are about to leave work, all you have to do is apply the finishing touches – a splash of colour, a hint of glitter, a touch of glamour.

Smokey Eyes
If smokey eyes are your look, use neutral tones to create the shape and style, so that all you need to do is vamp it up for the evening. For a smokey look that can be adapted try Urban Decay Naked 2 Basics Eyeshadow Palette. For a more intense dramatic look use Surratt Beauty’s Smokey Eye Baton and a coat of mascara. You can always add a fine layer of Shimmey shadow to give it some sparkle.

Liners
Rushing liquid liner is a disaster – you cannot rush this. Spend the time getting the line as even as possible - you can always add another layer or thicken it for the evening.  If you are going for a strong eyeliner then get your shape worked out earlier in the day. Perfect the shape using Charlotte Tilbury Feline Flick Liquid Eyeliner

Bold lip colour
If for are opting for a bold berry lip, save the application until you’ve finished work otherwise you may find it smudges or bleeds throughout the day. If you need to clean up any mistakes use a cotton bud with ReCover Correct & Conceal Red. Keep your lips neutral and well moisturized thoughout the day especially if you are going for one of the bold rouge noir shades in the evening, which can be a little unforgiving with any chapped or cracked lips.

Tom Ford’s Lip Color in Sable Smoke is a lovely velvety neutral lipstick that you can easily vamp up. Another bold colour for the evenng is Nars satin pencil in Palais Royal.

Staying power
Finally how to help your make up last from day to night

ReCover Correct & Conceal Red dotted onto any areas of redness or uneven skin tone, and blended to a seamless finish  is a great way to ensure that your make up lasts the course of the night.

Eyebrows; use Surratt Expressioniste Brow pomade for a defined natural look that wont flake or breakup and can be easily re-styled for the evening.

Go mascara free or apply a very light layer during the day to avoid clumping lashes when you reapply for the evening.

Balance lips and cheeks, if you are wearing a bright lip colour for the evening, add a little more flush to your cheeks to make sure you don’t look washed out. Use Kevyn Aucoin Crème Blushes as they are great for re-application, they blend nicely onto the skin and are a buildable colour.
